This
web site contains pretty much
all of the essential document
templates required to manage a
project from start to finish.
However, if you've never ran a
significant sized project, or
implemented the processes and
procedures to successfully make
use of the templates, then the
task can be quite daunting.
I
can provide training to your
organization to; understand the
various document templates,
determine how they would fit in
with your particular
environment, complete samples of
the documents using your data,
and assist you in establishing
your particular workflow and
procedures.

All projects of a reasonable
size should be reviewed on a
periodic basis. This is to
ensure things are going well and
that no unpleasant surprises are
lurking in the background. The
review should be done by an
independent, highly experienced,
qualified practitioner who can
bring an unbiased point of view
to the process.
Notice I haven't used the audit
word. This is on purpose, as I
believe it carries too negative
a connotation with it.
I
prefer to think of the review
process as a non-confrontational
activity involving all the key
project players, with a common
intention of identifying areas
where improvements could be made
and confirming those areas where
things are being done well.
My review process is not
intended to get down to the
nitty-gritty level of how, or
if, specific form fields are
filled out. Rather, it focuses
on a higher level view of how
things are performing and
conforming to the overall
established processes relating
to planning the work and working
the plan. This would cover such
things as; the incorporation and
regular use of the proper tools
and templates needed to run the
project, overall project
management, communications
within the project team, and the
broader community knowledge and
understanding of the project and
how it affects their activities.
Throughout the review a close
ear is kept to the ground to
gain insight into the softer
elements such as how well people are
getting along and the general feelings about the
project.
The review is not a rigid
pre-defined process, but is
tailored to suit the
circumstances and environment of
your particular project. The
scope, size and duration of the
review will be determined with
you to suit your individual
needs.
